In October 2015, my wife Ellie and I made the decision to invest in a piece of property that I had been interested in since high school. Our plan was to hold the land for a while until we could afford to build our dream home on the site.

That Christmas, Ellie and I wanted to have our first real Christmas Tree. Our daughter was a year and a half old, and we wanted her to enjoy the fresh smell and bright lights. We set out to find the perfect tree, but we were a little late in the season and friends at other tree farms had already sold out for the year. Sadly, our visit to other businesses did not result in the freshness or aroma of Christmas we so deeply desired.

That year, on Christmas Day, we decided to start our own Christmas tree farm. Shortly after the New Year, the real work began! We had equipment brought in to clear the land that had previously been a pine thicket and turn it into our first planting field. On February 10th, 2016, we planted our first seven hundred trees.

Our first Year was exciting to say the least as my experience as a Christmas tree farmer showed up and I managed to keep alive only 40% of our crop. Soon after, we joined the Georgia Christmas Tree Growers Association and were blessed with the most amazing help and friendships. Leaning on the experience of our newfound friends, we improved our processes and had a much more successful, and less heartbreaking, experience!

Since our first year we have planted over 3,700 trees; staggered by years to ensure there are plenty of trees for years to come. This year we are excited to offer over six hundred chose and cut field grown trees and five hundred pre-cut Fraser Fir tree we hand select from of friends in North Carolina.
